Precautions for virus sampling tubes
Date: 2021-10-27
The main structure and performance of single-use virus sampling tubes: usually composed of swabs and/or cups and tubes containing preservation solution. Supplied non-sterile.
Scope of application: used for sample collection, transportation and storage, etc.
Principle of action: After sterilizing the sampling tube, adding Hank's base solution and other virus-stabilizing components can maintain the activity of the virus in a wide temperature range, reduce the speed of virus decomposition, and improve the positive rate of virus isolation.
Contraindications, Precautions, Warnings, Prompt Instructions:
1. Sampling with a virus sampling tube should be sent for inspection as soon as possible, and the collection should be carried out at a low temperature of 2-8 ¡ãC immediately. The virus sample can be placed at 2-8 ¡ãC for a short period of 48 hours; long-term storage should be placed at a low temperature below -20 ¡ãC, -70 ¡ãC Or -196 ¡æ storage. Among them, H1N1 virus particles are more sensitive to -20¡ãC and need to be stored below -20¡ãC. If they are not transported at low temperature immediately after sampling, or are not stored at the specified temperature, the positive rate of virus isolation in the later stage will be affected.
2. The sampling tube is only used for the sampling of virus samples, and it is strictly prohibited to use for the sampling of bacterial samples. The antibiotics contained in the sampling liquid itself have an inhibitory effect on bacteria.
3. The virus sampling tube is forbidden to directly contact the patient being collected, and it is forbidden to sample the patient after wetting the swab.
4. When collecting virus samples, the sampling procedures should be strictly followed, so that the sampling site is accurate and the sampling intensity is uniform and suitable, otherwise the positive rate of virus isolation will be affected.
5. Do not use the product after the expiration date or if the product packaging is damaged.
6. When the sample is tested, it should be operated in a laboratory that meets the safety level.
7. The sampling tube after sampling is transported at an inappropriate temperature, which will cause the proliferation of bacteria and mold, and the antibiotics in the early sampling liquid will completely inhibit the microorganisms in the sample.
